Founded in 2009, School of Humanities, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, consists of Department of Law and Department of Social Work, which include such undergraduate programs as law and social work. In addition, the program for students of ethnic minorities and the dual-degree program of law are offered to the students in the university. Ethnology, a first level discipline of Master’s degree program and MSW (Master for Social Work) program are also provided in School of Humanities.
Japanese Culture Research Institute, and Ethnic and Social Research Institute have been set up in School of Humanities. Simulated court and Social Work Experiment and Teaching Center are also established in the School. Other organizations and institutions that provide service to the society include “National Training Base for Social Workers”, “Inner Mongolia Education Center of Intellectual Property”, “Inner Mongolia Research and Practice Training Center for Community Workers” etc. Computer rooms and library and other facilities in the School can help the faculties and students conduct research, serve the society, participate in the training program and promote the culture transmission.
Among 39 teachers in School of Humanities, there are 5 professors, and 11 associate professors, among whom, 19 are Master’s degree candidates’ supervisors and 17 have obtained their PhD degree. At present, four teachers are pursuing their doctorate studies. Since 2009, 7 research projects at the national level, 2 research projects of the Ministry of Education, 20 research projects at the provincial level and many local and university projects have been completed in the School. Several teachers have been awarded the prize for their excellent achievements in the research of philosophy and social sciences by Inner Mongolia Government. In recent years, 30 academic papers have been published annually and 20 books written by the teachers in the School have also been published.
Guided by the value of “humanity mind and humanity care”, School of Humanities follows the principle of “humanity education mist engineering background, distinct humanity features, spirit of rule of law and concept of social work” during the course of discovering the education approach and philosophy for students of law. The progress made in developing multi-level education, establishing teaching teams, research teams and teams of innovation, seeking new channels for cooperation with the government and other universities will help to make the best use of the resources in the university and the society.
